More Pictures to Compare

Take a good look at these pics of one of the last active duty SR-71 Blackbirds. They were all taken by Nick Kiriokos at Nasa Dryden. Nick has graciously given us permission to use his pictures on this site in persuit of our goals. These are some of the best pictures I've yet seen. I'm only including a few here, but please visit Nick's site for all of the pictures.

Here's what the main gear doors are supposed to look like. Click on the image for a larger view in a new window.

Here's a good head-on shot of the Blackbird. Notice the pitot tube actually has a small offshoot to one side. This is common to the A-12, YF-12A, M-21, and SR-71. Take a good look at the height of those gear doors, too. Do you see a difference? Click on the image for a larger view in a new window.

Remember those tires on #122? Here's what they're supposed to look like. Click on the image for a larger view in a new window.

To see larger versions of one of the pictures above, just click on it and it will open in a new window. As always, thanks for taking the time to read our blog!
